Naval Surface Warfare Center - Carderock Division: VPS provides Artificial Intelligence/Advanced Visualization data analysis for vehicle tracking and coatings projects funded by the Office of Naval Research in support of the US Marine Corps. Data Models are constructed to predict the corrosion rates of accelerated testing results for USMC vehicle durability tests. Additionally, Data Models are constructed for the USMC coatings project to determine optimum performance levels of USMC coatings in accelerated and natural marine beach exposure durability tests.
VPS is developing a corrosion and coatings performance database for ONR data. Data tables are constructed to allow for comparison of laboratory and field data of like materials. Data will be used by scientist and engineers to bench mark performance of alternative materials and newly developed corrosion models.
Naval Surface Warfare Center - Carderock Division - Philadelphia Detachment: VPS provides program management and engineering consulting services for the In-service Engineering Corrosion Group (IECG).
Services provided by VPS include:
1) Tracking technical issues concerning fleet-critical coatings application and maintenance;
2) Development and maintenance of IECG's corrosion assessment database and field data gathering application;
3) Laboratory automation and control; and
4) Nonskid coating assessment program.
Naval Research Laboratories: VPS provides management of test and evaluation projects, shipboard demonstrations, and technology transfer of prototype systems. Current test and evaluation projects include characterization of UHP water-jetting flash rust and non-traditional nonskid systems. Shipboard demonstrations include ship board coefficient of friction measurements and nonskid deck cleaning system evaluations. Technology transfer projects include NRL's Corrosion Sensor and coefficient of friction meter. In addition, VPS manages several sub- contractors that provide onsite support to NRL's facilities in Washington DC and Key West FL.
